Insurance Costs Disputes

Masters provide insurance costs dispute services to a range of highly regarded legal firms and insurers across London and the UK. We are renowned for our attention to detail and our proactive approach to costs. We are supported by our in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of working in this area including advocacy and high quantum complex cases. We are ideally placed to assist our clients in all aspects of any insurance costs dispute.

We act for insurers, re-insurers, intermediaries, the insured or assured and their professional advisers in litigation, arbitration and mediation in relation to costs arising in national and international jurisdictions in respect of professional indemnity, construction, catastrophic injury, coverage disputes, product liability and property claims. We are frequently involved in costs budgeting and assisting with costs management prior to conclusion of a case and act for clients in unitary or group actions.

We are often instructed in relation to overseas and offshore matters and have been retained to undertake costs audits overseas including in America and Hong Kong.

The insurance team acted on behalf of the paying party in Motto v Trafigura, the largest costs claim made in the UK to date.
